The
mother said, to her nearly 4 year, old son, “Tell the lady
which church we go to.”
After some thought he replied, “The yellow
one.”

while letting children know about Children's Church
at Starship
Starship
Storytelling Schools
When I hear a quote like the one above I am so
glad I work with children. I have been to the
Starship
Hospital Children's Church to tell the story twice in the last six
weeks and both times have been quite different.
The first time was to tell the story of the ten commandments.
There was only one child present and she was enthralled by the way
Moses received them and that they are still good laws today. Then last
night, I told the story of “Rocky,” the
stone that David used to slay Goliath.
As result of someone seeing me do a
storytelling
workshop for Bible in Schools teachers and then taking 6 assemblies out
west I was invited to do a workshop with the children's ministry team
at Church Unlimited. With a volunteer team of over 50 and incredible
facilities as well as 2 employed staff for children's ministry they are
blessed However, their biggest struggle is Bible
“literacy”. So I was very privileged to be a part
of the process of helping to improve that. On the down side, I was
asked to consult with a church where the children's ministry is
flagging and their main struggle is finding people to lead the ministry
Then total joy at being in a
school
opening the Bible. Gill came home and shared that a
mum of a boy in Thomas' class, which I teach, had asked her what church
we go to as her son was enjoying Bible in schools so much that she
would like him to go to church. They don't go to church but
she asked if we could take her son with Thomas to church when we go.
